Hey, I’m Bizu.

I help clients navigate life's transitions by providing the tools and support needed to feel unstuck and creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood.

Approach

Individuals of every ethnicity, culture, age, and background go through many life transitions, and as a therapist, I work with clients to grow and examine their strengths in a nurturing, safe, and understanding environment. Whether it’s in their relationships, work, or identity, I aim to help clients navigate their experiences with self-awareness and self-efficacy towards balanced well-being. Clients have expressed challenges with adjustment and anxiety from relocating, to job exploration, to the intersections of who they are, and I support all with care for the whole person.

I collaborate with clients through a personalized plan integrating ACT, CBT, and Existential approaches to gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as they relate to their situation and story. Clients are empowered throughout the healing process by discovering and utilizing their coping abilities.

I help frame goals and solutions from a respectful holistic perspective based on resiliency, authenticity, and meaning. If you are feeling lost or having challenges adjusting, I will work alongside you towards the life you have envisioned and deserve.

For people navigating…

  • Life Transitions & Grief

Whether you’re stepping into a new career, starting or ending relationships, or figuring out your next chapter, transitions can feel daunting. We’ll work together to help you stay grounded, even when life feels uncertain. You’ll learn to move through change with clarity, flexibility, and purpose.

  • Anxiety & Stress

Life’s demands—whether from work, school, or relationships—can trigger stress and anxiety. Together, we’ll use ACT-based techniques to build resilience. You’ll learn to sit with uncomfortable emotions, reduce their power over you, and focus on what truly matters.

  • Identity & Self-Exploration

Who are you becoming? Whether you’re exploring your cultural identity, gender or sexual orientation, or personal values, this space is for you. With an ACT approach, we’ll focus on self-acceptance and creating alignment between your values and actions, empowering you to live authentically and get unstuck.

  • Career & Academic Changes

Uncertainty about your career or academic path is normal, especially during big life transitions. Whether you’re shifting careers, dealing with job stress, or feeling lost in school, we’ll explore ways to move forward with purpose and self-compassion while letting go of unhelpful narratives to focus on meaningful action.

  • Relationship Dynamics

Navigating relationships—whether romantic, family, or friendships—can be complex. We’ll work on setting boundaries, improving communication, and strengthening connections. We’ll also explore how to accept things outside your control while identifying actions that align with your values.

  • Therapy Day PLLC was named out of the gratitude and joy I hear from clients who come to sessions expressing, “It’s therapy day!” as they describe a desire to share their thoughts, feelings, and stories. Whether it’s recent life changes or childhood experiences, this is a time and space where you can freely identify your needs and values. I became a therapist to challenge the cultural stigmas around mental health that have kept many in the community from seeking support. I hope these therapy days create joy and healing on all the other days.
