About

Bizu S. Ridenhour, LPC, NCC, MSEd is a compassionate therapist who supports emerging adults navigating life transitions, identity, and relationship dynamics. She is a DC local and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. She has also cultivated an extensive background in education as a Career Counselor for undergraduate and graduate college students, a supervisor for mental health counseling graduate interns and therapists, an academic researcher, and a middle school special education teacher in NYC.

Therapy Day PLLC was named out of the gratitude and joy I hear from clients who come to sessions expressing, “It’s therapy day!” as they describe a desire to share their thoughts, feelings, and stories. Whether it’s recent life changes or childhood experiences, this is a time and space where you can freely identify your needs and values. I became a therapist to challenge the cultural stigmas around mental health that have kept many in the community from seeking support. I hope these therapy days create joy and healing on all the other days.
